MIA 612m 35mm focal length
£110.00
One camera, three medium-format options—and room to experiment beyond them.
The MIA 612m is a multi-format pinhole camera designed for 120 film. Interchangeable inserts let you choose between 6×6, 6×9 and panoramic 6×12 images.
The 35 mm focal length is quite aggressive for the 6×12 format, producing an exceptionally wide 124° angle of view. Vignetting is present, as you would expect from such a wide design, but it is not excessive.
Embossed angle-of-view guides appear on both sides of the camera: one side shows the coverage for medium-format film, while the other shows the coverage for 35 mm film. These guides are particularly useful for anyone wishing to experiment with extra-wide panoramic images on 35 mm film.
The rear film-counter windows are protected by sliding light-blocking tabs. The colour of the tabs makes no difference—light is light, whether the material is red, yellow or any other colour. Extra consideration may be necessary when using orthochromatic film.
Double winding knobs make intentional double exposures easy to manage, while the magnetic knobs, shutter and film holder keep the camera simple and enjoyable to use.
